Claudia Valdes Aguirre

Claudia Valdes Aguirre is a researcher at the University Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid, where she also obtained a doctorate with international mention in environmental and energy law, as well as a master’s degree in environmental human and socioeconomic dimensions.
Her main lines of research are focused on the legal application of the principles of environmental law, environmental policy and economics, sustainable development, renewable energy and non-conventional fossil sources.
She is a First graduate of Law from Lasallian University of México, where she also garnerd several academic awards including the Miguel Febres Cordero Medal for academic excellence.
She is an active member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (APIN). She is currently leading the environmental planning of a cohousing project in Avila, Spain.
